My name is Captain Jay York and I would like to personally welcome you to the Mystic Rose Fishing Charters Web site.

Captain and Crew: Captain Jay York is a USCG 100-Ton Master. Captain Jay has 30 over years fishing experience and began his fishing journey off the Northeast coast of New York. Captain Jay began fishing at the age of ten, on his fathers boat, The Compass Rose. His father, Captain Jesse York, fished for everything from flounder, Striped Bass, Cod Fish, to Giant Bluefin Tuna, Marlin, Swordfish and Sharks. Captain Jay’s passion for fishing is why he spent the next 32 years making his livng from the ocean. He spent 20 years commercial rod and reel fishng for Yellowfin, Bigeye, and Giant Bluefin Tuna. Jay then moved to South Florida and has spent the last 14 years fishing in the charter industry in Palm Beach and Jupiter. 

Capt. Chris Hinote is a USCG 100-Ton Master. Capt. Chris has over ten years experience in charter boat and party boat drift fishing. Capt. Chris was born and raised in South Florida and has spent more than half his life fishing on the Southeast coast. The original member of ”The Lost Boys” fishing crew. 

Vessel: The Mystic Rose is a 35 foot Willis Beals, built by RP Boatworks, in Maine. The vessel has a fully enclosed cabin and bathroom, large 16 foot cockpit with 14 foot beam and comfortable seating. This ensures a 6 person fishing experience to be a comfortable one.

Electronics: State of the art electronics includes:Furuno Radar, Furuno NavNet GPS Chart Plotter Depth sounder, Northstar GPS Chart Plotter, Si-tex depth sounder, 2 Icom VHF radios, cellular phone booster, and stereo system for those music lovers.

Tackle: All tackle and equipment is provided to allow you the best fishing experience: 30lb class Star Rod, Penn 4.0 113H reels spooled with 30-40lb line. Smaller rods and reels are available for children. You may choose to bring your own tackle if you like. Bait , tackle and fishing license are included in fare.

What to bring: Sun screen, sunglasses, hat, rain gear, if necessary, drinks and food. Bottled water provided by boat.

Conclusion of trip: All fish caught on The Mystic Rose are yours to take home, provided that they meet the legal size and bag limits. The Captain and Crew will fillet your catch.
